It's important to note that any ride-disturbance from your wheels would be noticeable out of the box and would not develop or get worse over time. In most cases, vibration is not the result of the wheel manufacturing process. If the wheel(s) ran smoothly at any point after purchase, then the problem is not wheel related but may be attributed to another issue such as an impact, a bad tire or faulty installation.
There are several installation issues that contribute to vibration occurring within a specific speed "frequency". The most common mistakes are:
- One or more wheels are not balanced correctly. Ex: Weights should not be spread out across the wheel.
- The wheel is not hub-centric which may be necessary in some limited applications. A wheel that is not hub centric has a center bore that is larger than the vehicle hub and may "shift" during the torquing process which can impact the ride smoothness. "Hub centric rings" will adapt the wheel to match the vehicle hub diameter and prevent shifting during installation. Hub rings are available from your local dealer. Again, the vibration you are experiencing is more than likely associated with either the installation, an impact or a bad tire, and would need to be corrected via one of our dealers.
